Apprenti
Scaling Apprenticeships Through Strategic Partnership
Since 2015, Apprenti has transformed workforce development by creating pathways to mid-level tech careers for individuals from non-traditional backgrounds. With over 5,000 apprentices placed nationwide across all 50 states and partnerships with major employers, Apprenti has demonstrated that registered apprenticeships can deliver both economic mobility to apprentices and stronger employer retention. Their model combines classroom training with paid on-the-job experience, resulting in dramatic income increases – from a median pre-apprenticeship wage of $40,000 to $88,000 upon retention – while maintaining a 90% post-completion retention rate.
Now, Apprenti is testing a new approach to scale: leveraging strategic partnerships to expand into healthcare. As federal apprenticeship funding shifts and other intermediaries exit the field, Apprenti is uniquely positioned to serve as an administrative infrastructure for healthcare training organizations with deep subject matter expertise. Through this partnership, Axim is supporting Apprenti's integration of healthcare apprenticeship operations, allowing them to pilot a replicable framework that could transform how apprenticeships scale across industries. By combining Apprenti's proven recruitment, employer engagement, and compliance tracking systems with employers' curriculum expertise and industry relationships, this collaboration aims to serve 2,000 incremental apprentices and reach 4,000 total annual placements by 2028.
The partnership offers critical insights into infrastructure-based scaling models and sustainability in workforce development. It addresses a critical gap in the apprenticeship ecosystem, where strong training providers often lack the systems to effectively scale.
