The Advisor Network
AI-Powered Advising Support as a Field-Changing Initiative
Research shows that high-quality advising dramatically improves postsecondary and career outcomes. Yet more than half of high school advisors today serve in this role on a part-time basis, and the average student-to-postsecondary advisor ratio is 385-1. With limited time and resources, advisors need tools that help guide and support students effectively. The core challenge is no longer identifying what works – it is delivering that guidance at scale.
To meet this need, The Advisor Network, a new national non-profit, draws on the guidance of OneGoal, uAspire, and Let’s Get Ready. By anchoring its mission in the insights of these trusted organizations, The Advisor Network aims to equip advisors with the exact tools and knowledge necessary to significantly enhance the quality of conversations they have with students.
The Advisor Network has purposefully created a generative AI-powered "overlay tool" that integrates seamlessly into the existing CRMs that advisors already use (including their collaborators Xello and Mainstay). The Advisor Network is also working with trusted collaborators in alternative pathways and career advising (SkillUp and Campus Evolve) to fast-track postsecondary advisors’ access to vetted, quality content that can help students pursue their next steps. The tool enables advisors to spend more time guiding students by consolidating data, content, and advising frameworks into one resource. By partnering with mission-aligned organizations, The Advisor Network helps students and advisors stay connected across different platforms.
With Axim Collaborative’s support, The Advisor Network will complete Phase I of development, reaching approximately 80,000 students served by the three partner organizations. This phase will validate the tool alongside their research partner, MDRC, while refining the technology architecture for scalability and interoperability across platforms.
“At The Advisor Network, one of our deeply held beliefs is that achieving large-scale impact for students requires collaboration. We’ve formed strong partnerships with mission-aligned people and organizations across advising, research, and content to tackle these national problems.”
